Actually in the present day movies, the main focus resides on the protagonist and his own struggles to win his ladylove. Very little or no involvement of parents and family members makes it an altogether secluded concept which is not relatable to all the classes of our society. There are so many similarities between the two latest ‘modern love’ based ADHM and Bafikre released within months of each other rolling down on the silver screens.

There is either no involvement or very little involvement of society and parents. In ADHM, Alizeh’s and Ayan’s parents are completely absent. While In Befikre, Dharam’s mother is not invited to his own wedding. We don’t doubt the money as an issue but it makes us wonder; how these protagonists are able to sustain the extravagant lavish lifestyle and big luxurious apartments without their parents fully supporting them? Though there are hints from parental supports but nowhere it is fully described, which is a loophole in present day Bollywood love stories.

The jobs the movie characters persue or they want to persue are actually not enough to march the extravaganzas or their lifestyle as shown in the movies. For example, Saba in ADHM is not a famous urdu poetess but yet she hails in Vienna that too with all the luxuries. The situation presented in present day movies are so unreal and untreatable that we just cannot build a connection with the plot or story of the films. The dialogs are most of the time either repetitive or so exaggerated that they are unbearable to us. And this is problematic to us on various levels.
