Asha Gond, Tribal Girl from MP to Study in an Oxford School


It’s like a dream come true for Asha Gond, a 16-year-old tribal girl from MP who will be setting off for the UK in next 2 or 3 months to study the English language in an Oxford School. This Indian girl has proved a very famous saying, “when there is a will then there is a way too” into reality.

Asha Gond, who belongs from village Janwaar (MP), was recently introduced to the English language and she successfully developed expertise in this language after getting support from Ulrike Reinhard like, a German women, who has organised a skate park in the Janwaar village to train all school going tribal kids in skating as well as in the English language.

Super excited girl Asha stated to media personals over a telephonic conversation on Thursday, “I am very excited. I don’t know what the UK is like but I will definitely make the most of it. I am not at all scared and will give my best.”

Talking to media persons, one of the reputed MLA from Panna added,” He told Asha’s parents that Asha will go to set an example for all other kids of their village and district too. She will be the first person who is going to Oxford for her studies.”

When Asha was asked about her future plan after coming completing her studies at Oxford, she said, “She will keep on reading and let other girls like her read too.” Asha’s parents had promised Ulrike they won’t marry Asha until she completes her education and come back. “Asha will have a decent job at Janwaar Castle where she has to translate Ulrike words to their local language so that other children from village create wonder like Asha do,” added Ulrike.
