Cyber Attackers Take on Banks this time

Due to the data breach , the card networking companies Mastercard, NPCI, Visa informed about a potential risk to the banks. According to sources, customers’ cards which  were identified by the networks were immediately blocked by SBI as a precautionary measure.

Around 6 lakh debit cards have been blocked due to this malware related to a security breach in a non-SBI ATM network.  Sources have also revealed, worst hit banks are SBI and HDFC.

The other banks are yet to make an announcement about this issue. Axis bank has already informed RBI immediately after the detection of malware and there were no loss to its customers, the bank informed.
