Czech has the World’s Deepest Underwater Cave


Poland’s Krzysztof Starnawski ‘s team of explorers has discovered World’s deepest underwater cave at 404 meters. “Hranice Abyss” cave in the Czech Republic , surpassed the previous record by about 12 meters. Starnawski first dived and reached 200 meters and then , they used an underwater robot for another 204 meters.

The Czech Republic Speleological Society believed that the cave was deeper than 404 meters. Water temperature of 15C (59F) and mud make diving difficult in the cave. Moreover, the mineral composition in water,  damaged equipments and also exposed skin.

National Geographic first reported the discovery and covered some operation cost as stated by Starnawski.
