Efficiency of Smartphone Cameras Enhances with UV light

Scientists from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) said that an ordinary low-band width photodetector with the help of UV light can turn it to a high-bandwidth device. Treating it with systems and devices can enhance the efficiency of cameras as per the research.

A research was conducted in which a photodetector which was polymer based incorporating zinc-oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles was exposed for 30 seconds to light.

There was a broader spectral response from this research and the maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 140,000 per cent was acquired as compared to the 30 per cent before the UV treatment.
