On Friday, a huge metallic boiler structure collapsed at an under-construction National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) unit at Solapur in Western Maharashtra which left three people dead and two others were reported injured.
This NTPC was under-construction since 2011 and the incident occurred at 11;30 am when maximum people were engaged in some of the work in boiler section.
Assistant Police Inspector Inderjit Sonkamble of Valsang Police Station(Solapur Rural) said “Of the twelve workers present at the boiler section when the huge metallic angles and other structural material collapsed, three were killed instantly, while two other sustained injured. The others managed to escape without any injuries”.
