On Saturday, there was a false alarm on the radioactive leak. A consignment for Molybdenum-99 which is a nuclear drug for cancer treatment. The consignment arrived on Air France Flight for B L Kapoor Hospital, Pusa Road. The alarm ringed due to misinterpretation of radioactive radiations by an employee of a private company as stated by the aviation ministry.
This leak cannot be termed as an emergency as there were no beta radiations in the surrounding areas.District Magistrate Abhishek Singh said: “An inadvertently wrong radiological emergency message was conveyed.
NDRF confirmed that the leak was in permissible limits and no injury has been reported so far.
