US States Secretary, John Kerry joked at the India Institute of Technology, IIT-Delhi campus on Wednesday’s morning heavy rain across the capital. This heavy rainfall flooded roads and delayed Kerry’s lecture at IIT-Delhi campus by an hour. Referring Source’s statement, “A total of 50 policemen were employed to make John Kerry’s way to the IIT Delhi campus”.
John Kerry was scheduled for a talk session on Wednesday morning with IIT Delhi’s students. But, due to heavy rain in the across the national capital, he was delayed and reached closer to 11 a.m. He appreciates warm welcome received from IIT-Delhi’s students and opened his talk session with the joke featuring the morning’s rain. “Don’t know how you all come here. You all must have needed boats to assemble here,” John Kerry mentioned to the gathering assembled at the institute of South Delhi. Journalists who traveled along with the US leader tweets various pictures of roads filled with water. Due to heavy rain in Delhi, Kerry’s numbers of scheduled trips for the religious places were canceled.
After his arrival on Monday in Delhi, John Kerry, US Secretary of State was trapped in traffic due to heavy rain which continues for more than an hour. Additionally, Wednesday’s heavy rainfall which inundates a number of swathes across the national capital region made Kerry remember same deluge during the last month where hundreds of people were stuck for round about 12 hours in long snarls.
The hailstorm along with strong wind and lightning was observed for more than 4 hours in the morning. Various commuters stranded at Metro stations and bus stops due the flooded roads across Central and Southern Delhi.
