A zero –emission train powered by hydrogen was unveiled by the French company Alstom at the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin. This hydrogen powered train called the Coradia iLint will be running from December 2017 in Germany.
Coradia iLint is powered by hydrogen fuel cell which is stored in hydrogen fuel tank on the roof of the train and is CO2 – emission free.In opposition to greenhouse gasses , the train produces just steam and water.
Alstom has received an order total of 900 Coradia Lint trains, out of which 750 are in operation already which makes Alstom a best seller of regional trains. Low maintenance cost and low life cycle are two major features of Coradia Lint.
Coradia Lint is available in 4 different train architectures and two different access heights.
